The City of St. John's has put together a number of classes for me this summer season 2022. Some really great pieces coming out of those.
Catherine and Heidi used their Artist and Lunch in February to work on these cute birds. We actually painted them on wooden panels!
Kicked off 2020 with the 1st acrylic class of the year on Jan 12th. This time we painted slate panels!
December 16th 2019 was the last class for the year. Marion was back in the studio and created this wonderful painting!

Two 1st time students, Stephanie and Bev visited the studio on Monday Dec 9th/19. They had a great time and did some fantastic work.

This summer i have seen huge improvements in one of my newest students. I try to focus on teaching realism in painting. So proportion, textures, shadows and highlights are important elements that I try to give students an understanding so that their pieces are as realistic looking as they can be. (Don't get me wrong, there are also times we go totally abstract and just muck around with paint as well).
Last night a student finished this pear. We used open brand acrylics to give her a play time closer to an oil paint experience. I think she did a really fantastic job!
Ever meet someone who just seems like they don't have any confidence? They think they will never be able to do something as good as someone else etc? Last night I had the pleasure of a small class. While 2 ladies, who are really experienced came to work on their oil paintings, 2 others came to work on a beachscape. Both did a fantastic job, but one was a little less confident than the other. She has been painting with me for about 6 months and last night was the first time that I could really see how happy she was with her end product! Congrats to you both you did a fantastic job!
Wonderful evening at home tonight, July 10th 2018 with some regular students as well as 2 new friends visiting from Tennessee. Everyone did a lovely job! Thanks to Glenda for treating me to some pansies from her garden. They were our inspiration!
There is no doubt that I really love what I do! I love that I have been able to build a successful business out of something that really doesn't feel like work. May 17th I spent the evening hanging out with the physiotherapist and recreation therapists as St. Patrick's Mercy Home. We had a lovely time! (Ok I got a little goofy towards the end!)

I will always have a soft spot for the Children's camp in Torbay. Torbay was the first community to book me for summer camp! I love visiting this one each year. Friday August 18th we learned to paint hot air balloons. Fantastic job kids!

In our last Acrylic session for spring 2017 at the Mews Center we created silhouettes of this Newfoundland landmark. Everyone did such a wonderful job. Here are just a few... more to come.
